Costco—Doing wonders for Mater Little Miracles

Baby Eadie spent 52 days in Mater's NCCU before being able to go home

Each year the dedicated staff at Costco North Lakes and Costco Ipswich raise much needed funds for Mater Little Miracles through their month-long token campaign. SJ-and-Eadie-450x450.jpg

This year will mark five years of this incredible partnership and what a five years it has been! To date, Costco has raised more than $340 000 for Mater Little Miracles. We consider ourselves so lucky to partner with such an extraordinary group of people.

Their support helps Mater give the best possible care for sick and premature babies.

Babies like Eadie who spent 52 days in Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit before being well enough to go home with her parents Sarah-Jayne and Michael. Eadie was born at 30 weeks weighing just 1470 grams. Babies born prematurely like Eadie often can’t breathe on their own, be touched or even be breastfed. It can be an incredibly challenging and emotional time for the families of these tiny babies, but for Sarah-Jayne and other parents in similar situations the care provided at Mater Mothers’ Hospital made it a lot more bearable.

We want to thank the Costco team for their ongoing support; and we want to celebrate their staff as they launch this year’s token campaign, kicking off 1 September.
