That’s more than 10 000 Mater little miracles born into the world every year!
The birth of a newborn is one of the happiest and most beautiful moments in life for mothers and their families, and while most pregnancies are without complications, sadly some babies are born premature, are seriously ill, or are simply too small to go straight home with their parents. For these families they turn to Mater—an Australian leader in neonatal critical care.
Every year more than 2000 of these tiny babies come to our hospitals from all over Queensland to receive around the clock specialist care from the team in Mater's Neonatal Critical Care Unit.
But these tiny babies need your help too.
Whether you've had a healthy baby born at Mater, or your baby needed some extra care and support when they were born, your support of Mater Little Miracles will help us invest in life-saving research, care and equipment to make sure that all babies can grow up to be happy and healthy children.
Make your difference here and help ensure that all Mater little miracles have the best possible start to life.
Hi, my name is Miracle Max!
I am a friend to all babies born and cared for at Mater.
I arrived at Mater Foundation as a young puppy in 2004 and was adopted by hospital staff after they saw me in action and they knew that I could help soften the healthcare experience for parents and their babies by stopping by for a hug or a pat.
Since then I’ve been helping wonderful and generous Mater Little Miracles supporters (just like you!) raise vital funds for life-saving research, care and equipment—like Queensland’s first 24/7 Pregnancy Assessment Centre, offering support to any woman from day one of their pregnancy to six weeks after their baby is born.
Our doctors, nurses and researchers are busy working day and night to ensure that all Mater little miracles have the best possible opportunity to grow up to be happy and healthy children.
But they couldn’t do this without your help—so thank you, you are my ‘supaw-hero'!
